Issues concerning ethics in nursing health care

Accountability an ethical duty stating that one should be anwerable legally, morally, ethically, or socially for one's activities. accepting responsibility for one's actions
Autonomy Personal freedom and right to make choices.
Beneficence an ethical principle stating that one shold do good and prevent or avoid doing harm.
Bioethics the study of ethical problems resulting from scientific advances.
Code of ethics set of statements encompassing rules that apply to people in professional roles.
Deontology an ethical theory stating that moral rule is binding
Ethics science or study of moral values deals with the dynamics of decision making concerning what is right and wrong.
Nonmalefiecence an ethical principle stating the duty not ot inflict harm requires that no harm be done, either deliberately or unintentionally.
Utilitarianism an ethical theory stating that the best decision is one that bringss about the greatest good for the most people.
Values ideas of life, customs, and ways of behaving that society regards as desirable. Personal belief about worth that acts as a standard to guide behavior.
veracity an ethical duty to tell the truth requires nurses to be truthful
Justice Obliges nurse to treat every person equally regardless of gender, ethnicity, disease, or social standing.
confidentiality information said to nurses that must not be repeated except with permission or by law.
Ethical Dilemmas abortion, organ transplant, euthanasia
Morals perceptions of worth individuals place on objects, attitudes, ideas, and attributes.
