Who was the leader of the Nazis? Hitler
What happened when people try to take a stand against Hitler's ideas? They were imprisoned and often murdered
Why did Hitler rise in power? He promised the German people he would make Germany great again. The people were mad about the Treaty of Versailles. He will reclaim lost land.
What is the Great Depression? A time when many farmers lost their land, banks closed, and many people were unemployed.
What happened to businesses after the stock market crash? People could not buy stuff because they did not have money nor jobs.
What did the Allies want to do to keep Germany from becoming powerful again? Their military was limited.
What type of government did Czar Nicholas II have in Russia? Autocracy
What was one cause of the Russian Revolution? The people were without food and needed supplies.
What group took over in Russia after the Russian Revolution? Bolsheviks
Who was the leader of the Russian Revolution? Lenin
What was the purpose of the Treaty of Versailles? to provide financial help for the rebuilding after WWI
What did the Treaty of Versailles require of Germany? Pay reparations, accept responsibility for the war, and to give back land.
What does prospering mean? Doing well financially.
During the depression, would you say people around the world were prospering? People around the world were not prospering during the Great Depression.
Why were people willing to follow Hitler? They were hurting financially, emotionally and physically from the war and did not feel as if their current government was helping them.
When the monarch government in Russia was overthrown and replaced with a new government in 1917 what is this time called? The Russian Revolution
What was the name of Hitler's book? Mein Kampf or in English My Struggles
Who did Hitler and the Nazi's blame for their troubles? The Treaty of Versailles and the Jewish people
How were the Nazi's able to retain (stay in) power? They took drastic measures (harmed) against all opposition (those who did not agree). The increased the number of followers. They offered solutions.
