what is a chemical symbol? it is a letter or letters that represent an element. the first letter is always captolized
Describe the motion of atoms in solids, liquids, and gases. atoms move slowest in solids,faster in liquids, adn fastest in gases.
what is a compound? It is a substnace that is made of different elements combined in a fixed proportion.
why are atoms too small to be seen with visible light? because light is made up of waves and atoms are smaller than a wvelength of visible
how can you see a molecule? it can be seen wiht an electron microscope
what are compounds made of? different kinds of elements.
what is in the nucleus of an atoms? protons and neutrons are found in the nucleus
what is important about the mucleus? it is the center region of the atom and it contains most of the mass of the atoms.
