Latin root "vis" means to see
Latin root "spect" means to look at or to watch
The word visible means it is able to be seen
A spectator is ... a person who looks at or watches something such as a baseball game. A spectator doesn't play.
If someone says something is spectacular they mean that what they are looking at is amazing
revise means to change after seeing something again
vision means is being able to see or looks at
Glasses are also known as spectacles, why? Spect means to see or look at and glasses help an individual to see or look at things.
prospect means look forward to
ped means foot or feet
pedestrian is a person who walks on foot
a visor is a shade for the sun that protects your eyes and is located on a hat or it can be in a car
The prefix micro means small or tiny
terra means earth, land
aqua means water
solar or sol means sun
tele means distance
trans means across
the root sym means together as in the word symphony or sympathy
the root syn means same as in the word synonym
envision means to imagine, form a picture in the mind of something that has not yet happened
supervise means to direct of oversee
visor a shield for the eyes like the brim of a hat or cap, the sunshade in a car
prospect to look for or such as mining for gold or to look forward to
respect admire or show high regard, to look up to
spectacle a grand sight
spectrum ROYGBIV - the spectrum of light, a range of somehing the whole spectrum of musical notes for example
introspection to look inward toward oneself
