electrolysis method of separating bonded elements and compounds by passing an electric current through them
What kind of ions are attractive to the cathode? the anode? positively charged ions (called cations) likes the cathode, while negatively charged ions (anions) move toward the anode.
What bubbles up at the anode? oxygen
What bubbles up at the cathode? hydrogen
Beside producing hydrogen, what does electrolysis also produce? oxygen. Submarines able to generate breathing oxygen from the water around them.
