axis | An imaginary that passes through the Earth's center and the North and South poles, about which Earth rotates. |
rotatoin | The spinning motion of a planet about its axis. |
revolution | The movment of an object around an other object. |
orbit | The path of an object as it revolves around another object in space. |

solstice | The to days of the year on which the noon sun is directly overhead at either 23.5 degrees celcuis South or 23.5 degrees celcuis North. |
equinox | The two days of the year on which neither the hemisphere is tilted toward or away from the sun. |
phase | One of the diffrent shapes of the moon as seen fro the Earth. |
eclipse | The partail or total blocking of one object by another. |
Gravity | The attractive force between two objects; its magnitude depends on their masses and the distence between them. |
Tide | The rise and fall of the level of water in the ocean. |
satellite | Any object that revolves around another object in sapce. |
Telescope | A divice built to study distant objects by making them appear closer. |
Geocentric | A description of the solar system in which all of the planets revolve around Earth. |
Heliocentric | A decription of solar system in which all of the planets revolve around the sun. |

Comet | A ball of ice and dust whose orbit is a long narrow ellipse. |
asteroid | Objects revolving around the sun that are too small and too numerous to be considerd planets. |
meteroid | A chunk of rock or dust in sapce. |
constellation | A pattern of stars in the sky. |
galaky | A giant strucsure that contains hundreds and billions of stars. |
universe | All of space and everything in it. |
Milki Way | Our Galaxy. (the word "Galaxy" actually means milky way in Greek). |
