Long bone three: | PERIOSTEUM (membrane) = a membrane that covers the external surface of the bone |
Short bones: | contains some marrow , consists of thin plates of compact bone |
Flat bones: | Location for red marrow , for diseaes and condition e.g anaemia, leukaemia |
Irregular bones: | Not like the others. |
Bone remodelling: step 1 | 1. Bone is deposited and absorbed in response to hormonal and mechanical stimuli |
Bone remodeling: step 2 | 2. Osteoblasts to lay down the bone. |
Bone remodelling: step 3 | 3. Calcium levels decline, and PTH stimulates osteoclasts to digest marrow that releases ionic calcium, which again stimulates the removal of calcium from the blood |
