Civil Rights Act of 1968 In the Civil Rights Act of 1968, the Supreme Court affirmed that the 1866 act prohibits “all racial discrimination, private as well as public, in the sale of real property”, meaning anyone may hold property anywhere.
Fair Housing Act (Officially known as Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968)- Federal law that specifies protected classes who are protected from discrimination.
Protected Class A class of people that by law are protected from discrimination.
Familial status defined as one or more individuals under the age of 18 living with a parent or another person having legal custody of such individual or individuals.
Steering the practice of directing home seekers to particular neighborhoods based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, non-handicapped status, or adults-only status.
Blockbusting illegal practice of inducing panic selling in the neighborhood for financial gain.
