kidney part of the urinary system, filters liquid waste from the blood & returns clean blood back into the body
large intestine part of the digestive system, absorbs water & electrolytes, produces vitamins, then preps waste for elimination from the body
How does food move through the digestive tract? muscular contractions through the walls of the stomach and large intestine
skeletal system aids in body movement, provides a framework for muscle attachments, and protects our organs, stores nutrients and produces blood cells
skin part of the nervous system, makes vitamin D, prevents dehydration, maintains body temperature, protects us from disease.
brain part of the nervous system, controls thought and action, regulates movement and balance, controls basic functions such as breathing and heart beat.
heart part of the circulatory system, the muscle that pumps blood and oxygen through the body, and delivers carbon dioxide waste to the lungs to be removed.
stomach part of the digestive system, food breaks down here because of acid and enzymes
liver part of the digestive system, filters all of the blood in the body and breaks down poisonous substances, it also produces bile that digests fats
pancreas a gland of the endocrine and digestive system that produces insulin to help control the body's sugar levels and enzymes which aid in digestion
lungss major organ of the respiratory system, wheres gases are exchanged between air and the blood.
homeostasis a constant internal condition, a self-regulating process by which a living organism can maintain internal stability.
small intestine part of the digestive system, continues to digest food and take in nutrients
