Who is Klipspringer? He is the "boarder" who always seems to be at Gatsby's house.
What does Gatsby tell Nick about himself? He was educated at Oxford, inherited his money from his family, and got some medals in the war.
What "matter" did Gatsby have Jordan Baker discuss with Nick? Gatsby wanted Nick to arrange a luncheon meeting between himself and Daisy.
Who is Mr. Wolfshiem? He is a racketeer and a business associate of Gatsby's. He fixed the 1919 World Series.
What does Mr. Wolfshiem tell Nick about Gatsby? Gatsby was the kind of man to take home to meet your mother and sister.
What does Jordan tell Nick about Daisy, Gatsby and Tom? Daisy and Gatsby had had an earlier romance. Her parents wouldn't let her see him off to war. Then she married Tom, and soon found out that he had a mistress.
Describe the meeting between Gatsby and Daisy. It was initially very awkward. Gatsby was nervous. They became more at ease as they talked.
How long did it take Gatsby to make the money to buy the mansion? Three years
What did Gatsby do to impress Daisy? He showed her his house and elegant clothes.
What had the green light on the dock meant to Gatsby? It stood for his vision of his future with Daisy.
What does this line from the book mean? "The vitality of his illusion had gone beyond Daisy-beyond everything." He had, through his years of dreaming, made her larger-than-life.
What is Gatsby's real name and where is he from? He is James Gatz from North Dakota.
What did Dan Cody do for Gatsby? He educated Gatsby about money and the people who have it.
What is Daisy's opinion of Gatsby's party and how does it affect him? She doesn't like it. He becomes depressed.
What does Gatsby want from Daisy? He wants her to leave Tom for him to show her unfailing love.
