What happens to the radiation coming from Earth's surface? It gets absorbed and heats up our atmosphere.
What is 1 thing that happens when the earth receives energy from the sun? Some energy is reflected back into space.
Convection plays a role in what? Heating the atmosphere after radiation and conduction.
What is this an example of: A metal spoon gets hot in boiling water. Conduction
What is this an example of: An ice cube held in hand begins to melt. Conduction
What is this an example of: A cheek is burned by a hot curling iron. Conduction
What is this an example of: Air is warmer near the ceilling than the floor. Convection
What is this an example of: Water in a heated pot begins the boil. Convection
What is this an example of: A swimmer is caught in a current of cold water and is pulled under. Convection
What is this an example of: An egg on a frying pan sizzles and cooks. Conduction.
What is Convection? Transfer Of Heat in liquids and gasses through currents.
How does energy from the sun reach the earth? Radiation.
What happens when cold air becomes more dense? It pushes up warmer air creating a convection current.
