Space

Solarreferring to the sun
Sunspot darker, cooler area on the sun's surface
Gravity Force that keeps the planets in orbit around the sun
Rotation (rotate) To spin on an axis- Gives Earth the Day/Night cycle
Revolution (revolve) To go around another object. Earth takes 365 days or 1 year to go around the sun
Axis Imaginary line that a planet spins on
Orbit The path that an object follows around another object
Satellite An object that orbits a planet. Can be man-made or natural.
Lunar Referring to the moon
Moon Phase The appearance of the moon due to the reflection of the sun and its position in its orbit
Crater bowl shaped impression made on a planet or moon from a meteorite
Tide The rise and fall of the oceans due to the moon's gravity
Crescent moon less than half of the moon lit up
Gibbous moon more than half of the moon lit up
Waxing The lit up side is getting bigger (light on the right)
Waning The lit up side is getting smaller (light on the left)
