Solar | referring to the sun |

Sunspot | darker, cooler area on the sun's surface |
Gravity | Force that keeps the planets in orbit around the sun |
Rotation (rotate) | To spin on an axis- Gives Earth the Day/Night cycle |
Revolution (revolve) | To go around another object. Earth takes 365 days or 1 year to go around the sun |
Axis | Imaginary line that a planet spins on |
Orbit | The path that an object follows around another object |
Satellite | An object that orbits a planet. Can be man-made or natural. |
Lunar | Referring to the moon |
Moon Phase | The appearance of the moon due to the reflection of the sun and its position in its orbit |
Crater | bowl shaped impression made on a planet or moon from a meteorite |
Tide | The rise and fall of the oceans due to the moon's gravity |
Crescent moon | less than half of the moon lit up |
Gibbous moon | more than half of the moon lit up |
Waxing | The lit up side is getting bigger (light on the right) |
Waning | The lit up side is getting smaller (light on the left) |
