AdaptiveStim Technology Embedded accelerometer automatically adjust stimulation as patient changes position. MDT
BurstDR Abbott proprietary waveform consisting of a sequence (or train) of five closely spaced monophasic pulses followed by a short interval for passive charge balancing before the sequence repeats. ABT
BurstDR™ Microdosing A power saving protocol in which the BurstDR™ program cycles on for 5/10 second & cycles off for similar time period used to extend the life of an Abbott non rechargeable IPG. ABT
Combination Therapy Multiple progs. delivered simultaneously (layered) including paresthesia based & paresthesia free. BSX
Contour Sub-Perception Algorithms Sub-perception program that shapes stimulation field over multiple vertebral levels. BSX
Differential Target Refers to more than on neural target. MDT
DTM (Differential Target Multiplexed) Multiplexed algorithm coordinating multiple signals at multiple anatomical targets. MDT
Electrode Redistribution Current steering algorithm. See MICS for more info. MDT
External Pulse Generator (EPG) Used for intraoperative testing & trials. MDT
Evolve Workflow An app on the Medtronic Clinician Programmer that offers guidance on parameter setting when running High Dose (HD) & Low Dose (LD) programs in sequence. MDT
Frequency Pairing (10K & LF) Sequential delivery of an HF10 program & low frequency program. NVRO
HF10K – Ultra-high frequency (10kHz) stimulation pulse delivered at amplitude levels below perception threshold resulting in paresthesia free stimulation. NVRO
Layered Delivering different programs simultaneously for pain.
llumina 3D algorithm Programming incorporates anatomic information, lead location, & parameter settings to enable "point & click" targeting. BSX
Multiple Independent Current Sources (MICS) Enables current to be divided in increments between 0 & 100% between any or all electrodes to enable more precise shaping of the stimulation field and also, current steering.
Multi-area Combinations Two or more programs delivered sequentially or simultaneously (layered) that target different areas of the spinal cord. Nalu, BSX
mySCS Digital version of a patient trial diary to record information such as pain levels, sleep, & activity during a trial. BSX
Neuromodulator An implanter who selects a system (company) & components to match individual patient needs
NevroCloud Cloud based software that collects patient & device data. NVRO
Pulse Dosing Alternating on & off times for delivery of HF10 stimulation to decrease power output & recharge burden. NVRO
Signal Refers to a program. MDT
Snapshot reporting Feature of the Intellis clinician programmer that reports on a patient’s stimulation usage, activity level, & recharge trends as recorded by the IPG. MDT

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.

To see how well you know the information, try the Quiz or Test activity.
