Catechism of St Thomas Aquinas on Faith

Is faith necessary for a Christian? Yes, Faith is necessary for every Christian. "Without faith it is impossible to please God."
What is the first good effect of faith? Union with God: Through faith the soul is united to God, and by it there is between the soul and God a union.
What is the second good effect of faith? Eternal life is already begun in us; for eternal life is nothing else than knowing God. "Faith is the substance of things to be hoped for."
What is the third good effect of faith? Knowledge of how to live a good life. The third good that comes from faith is that right direction which it gives to our present life.
What is the fourth good effect of faith? Strength to live rightly. The fourth effect of faith is that by it we overcome temptations. "This is the victory which overcometh the world: our faith." "In all things taking the shield of faith."
What are four good effects of Faith? Four good effects of faith are: 1. We are united to God 2. Eternal life is begun in us already 3. We know how to live rightly. 4. We have strength to overcome temptations
What is faith according to St Paul? "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
