Prey The animal that is being hunted.
Producers An organism that produces its own energy.
consumers organisms that get their energy from producers or other consumers
decomposers organisms that get their energy by breaking down wastes and dead organisms

symbiotic relationships a relationship between organisms
niche the role or function an organism has in an ecosystem

abiotic factor a nonliving thing or condition that influences or affects an ecosystem

terrestrial ecosystem an ecosystem on land
ecosystem all of the living and nonliving things in an area and how they interact
salinity the concentration of dissolved salts in water
population a group of the same species of organism living in an area together
community a group of different species living in the same area
estuary where the river meets the sea
