product | The new substance(s) formed at the end of the chemcial reaction. |
physical properties | Properties that can be observed or measured without changing the composition of matter. |
precipitate | Formed when two solutions are combined forming a solid or small partilces appearing as cloudiness. |
physical change | Change that alters the form or appearance of a material but does not make the material into another substance. |
reactant | Are the substances that you start with and are broken apart or combined in a chemical reaction. |
solubility | The ability for the solute to dissolve in a solvent. |
subscript | Shows how many of each kind of atom is present in a compound and is written to the lower right of the element's symbol. |
sublimation | The process in which a solid changes to gas due to energy or heat loss. |
melting | The process in which a solid changes to liquid due to energy or heat added. |
