1St Quartile The median of the lower half of an ordered set of data.
Measures of Central Tendency Measures that reflect special statistical information about a set of data. (Ex mean, median, mode)
Skewed Data Set When the data in a graph appears to be pushed to one side or the other
Uniform Data Set When the data in a graph appears to be similar
Outlier A number in a set of data that is much larger or much smaller than the other numbers in the set.
Symmetrical Data Spread When the data in a graph appears symmetrical
Histogram A way of displaying data that is much like a bar graph. The difference is that each bar represents the number of data elements in a range of values.
Quartiles Divides a set of data into four groups of the same size.
Mean A way of defining the "middle" of the numbers. To find it, add the numbers together then divide by the number of numbers in the set.
Median The middle number in an ordered set of data

Double Peaked Data Spread When the data in a graph appears to have 2 peaks
Minimum The smallest number in an ordered set of data
Maximum The largest number in an ordered set of data
Single Peaked Data Spread When the data in a graph appears to have 1 peak
Range The difference between the highest and lowest values in an ordered set of data
Inter-Quartile Range (IQR) A way to measure the spread of data. It is calculated by subtracting the first quartile from the third quartile.
