Carpentry flashcards

These flashcards are for matching up Basic tools with their usages.

QuestionAnswer
What is the use of a "Hammer"? To hammer nails in and take them out.
What do you use a "Miter Saw" for? Making angled cuts, for trimming... etc
What is a "Handsaw" used for? Cutting small pieces of lumber, trees... etc
What should you always wear for protection of your eyes? Safety glasses.
What is a "Disk Belt Sander"? A Disk Belt Sander is used for sanding objects, and has a disk sander, aswell as a belt sander.
What might someone use a "Drill" for? Drills are used for many things, Cutting holes, screwing things together... etc. Drills have interchangeable bits.
What is a "Drill Press"? Drill presses can be used to cut small, or large holes in lumber and wood.
What is a "Jigsaw"? A Jigsaw is a handheld power saw that can be used to make straight, or curved cuts.
What are three types of "Hammers". Mallet, Ball-peen hammer, and Framing hammer.
What can a table saw be used for? A Table saw can be used to make straight cuts in lumber and plywood.
