expirament | a set of controlled observations that test the hypothesus |
hypothesis | an explanation for what you have observed |
independent variable | a variable you can change while experimenting |
dependent variable | a variable that changes based off of the independent variable |
control | a standard to compare your results with |
conclusion | a judgement based on the info obtaned |
model | a visual, verbal, and/or mathematical explanation of experimental data |
theory | an explanation that has been supported by many, many experiments |
scientific law | a relationship in nature that is supported by many experiments |
accuracy | an indication of how close a measurement is to the true value. the darts are in relatively the same spot across the bored |
precision | an indication of how good the measuring device was. the darts are all on one spot on the bord |
extrapolation | a prediction of data beyond the graphed points |
