meniscus Connective tissue between the bones of the knees
atom The smallest unit of matter composed of protons, neutrons, and electrons
molecule A group of two or more atoms bond together, can be atoms of same or different elements
sulfur A yellow combustible, reactive, insoluble nonmetal chemical element
chemical reaction occur when chemical bonds between atoms are formed or broken
phase change a change in state of matter between plasma, gas, liquid, or solid
chemical process A method of changing one or more chemicals, chemical compounds, or properties
product A substance that is produced from a chemical reaction
reactants substances that takes part in and undergoes change during a reaction
odor A chemical molecule light enough to be swept around by the environment and stimulates the sense of smell
acid rain is formed when pollutants combine with water vapor creating precipitation with acidic components
pollutants A substance that pollutes something, especially water or the atmosphere
algae A simple, non-flowering aquatic plant
sulphuric acid A strong, highly corrosive acid in the form of an oily, dense, liquid
nitric acid A yellow liquid that is corrosive and poisonous made from distilling sulphuric acid
iron the fourth most abundant element in the Earth’s crust; most used and cheapest metal
calcium carbonate A white, odorless powder or crystals; a salt chemical compound commonly found in rocks
marble A hard crystalline metamorphic form of limestone, typically white with streaks of color
malic acid A crystalline acid present in unripe apples and other fruits
