What is an active error? the obvious error in an event
What is a latent error? the less apparent error that led up to the active error

What is a user-centered design? a design strategy that includes the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social aspects of the user

What fields do human factors play critical roles in? Aviation, manufacturing, and healthcare
How do we solve human error? we can't, we can only be prepared for them
What is anthropometry? the study of the dimensions and abilities of the human body
Does one size fit all in aviation maintenance? No
What is computer science? the study of the theoretical foundations of information and computation, and the practice techniques for their implementation and application in computer systems
What is cognitive science? the study of the human mind as an information processor
What is safety engineering? the assurance that the life-critical system will behave as needed even when the component fails
What is medical science? the study of designs to maintain and restore health through disease prevention and treatment
What is organizational psychology? the relationship b/w people and work
What is educational psychology? the study of how people learn, how to teach people, and how to teach in a way that relates to a wide range of people
