Access Terms pt 1

Contextual Tabs Formatting tables on the ribbon that only apper when you select an object such as table, form or report
Database A collection of information that is logically related and organzied so a computer can quickly access the desired information
Database Object A Table,form, query or report in a database
Field A category of information for all records
Field (column) Selector When you click on a column heading, you select the column as active. The column is highlighted and the entire column is selected
Navigation Pane The table of contents for your database, which allows you to open any object.
Navigation Pane Menu Controls how items in the database are displayed and organzied.
Record A collection of data regarding one peron or thing
Record (row) selector when you click in the box to the left of a row (record) in a table, you select the entire row.the row is higlighted and an orange box appears around the selection.
Table selector icon The triange in the upper left corner of a table.the entire table is highlighted to indicate it is selected.
