brand name followed by the R symbol. symbol indicates that the name is restricted to the owner of the drug, which is usually the manufacturer
prescription drug require an order by a health professional who is licensed to prescribe drugs
nonprescription or otc are sold without a prescription in a pharmacy or in the health section of department or grocery stores
illegal drugs referred to sometimes as recreational drugs; drugs or chemical substances used non therapeutic purposes
biosimilar a biologic product that is close in structure are function to an existing approved biologic product. known as referred product
