What are the 2 main categories of immune mechanisms? Innate immunity and Adaptive immunity.
What are the organs of the Upper Respiratory Tract? They are the nose, nasopharynx, oropharynx, laryngopharynx, and the larynx.
What organs make up the Lower Respiratory Tract? They are the trachea, the bronchial tree, and the lungs.
What organs make up the Upper GI Tract (not including the accessory organs)? It is comprised of the mouth, pharynx, esophagus, and stomach.
What organs make up the Lower GI Tract (not including the accessory organs)? It is comprised of the small intestine, duodenum, the jejunum, the ileum, large intestine, cecum, colon, rectum, and anal canal.
What are the sections of the colon, in order? Ascending Colon, Transverse colon, descending colon, and sigmoid colon.
What are the mechanisms of the digestive system? Ingestion, digestion, motility, secretion, absorption, elimination, and regulation.
What is the normal value range for total body water? 45% - 75% dependent on age, body fat content, and gender.
What are the 2 major fluid compartments of body fluid? Extracellular compartments and intracellular compartments.
What does the pH level indicate? Acidity, neutrality, or alkalinity.
What pH level is considered neutral? 7
