Same Domain

TermDefinition
Domain in a graph Horizontal values or values represented in the x-axis
Range in a graph Vertical values or values represented in the y-value
Input Same as x-value in a table or horizontal values in a graph
Output Same as y-value in a table or vertical values in a graph
Ordered pair Description of the coordinate of a location or point in the form of (x , y)
Coordinate plane The x and y axis forming a cartesian grid
x-axis horizontal values in a graph
y-axis vertical values in a graph
Function A relationship between 2 quantities where there is a unique input to every output. The input does not repeat in the table. The graph of the relationship passes the vertical test.
Not a function A relationship between 2 quantities where the input repeats.
Input-output table Table with 2 columns, representing the x-value on the left column and the y-value in the right column.
Function Notation Represented by f(x)
Evaluate Find the simplest answer to a complex expression
Vertical test A line drawn perpendicular to the x-axis on any section the graph of the relationship used to determine if the relationship between the quantities is a function or not.
Order of operations A specific pattern or order to follow when more than one arithmetic operation is present in a problem.
Rational Numbers Numbers we can rewrite as a/b where b is not zero
