What is a set point? A set point is the normal range to allow for homeostasis.
What are the four major groups of organic substances? Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins, and Nucleic Acids
Which way would water move from a cell in a hypertonic solution? Water would move out of the cell.
In which phase of mitosis do the chromosomes align along the equator of the cell? Metaphase
What type of epithelial membrane is not open to the external environment? Serous Membranes
What minerals are the main minerals store in the bones? Calcium and Phosphorus
which type of cartilage is found in the pubic symphysis, intervertebral disks, and near points of attachment of some large tendons? Fibrocartilage
What are the functions of the fontanels? - Allows the baby to pass through the birth canal without fracture - Allows for rapid brain growth
What needs to happen to expose the active binding site of actin during muscle contraction? Calcium mush bind to troponin which the shifts tropomyosin off of the binding site.
When muscle length stays the same while muscle tension increases is which type of contraction? Isometric Contraction
