Angle Pairs
Term | Definition |
---|---|
Adjacent Angles | Angles directly next to each other. They share a common ray. |
Vertical Angles | Angles across from each other when two lines intersect. They are congruent (equal in measure) |
Complementary Angles | Angles that add up to 90 degrees. When adjacent, they form an "L shape"/corner |
Supplementary Angles | Angles that add up to 180 degrees. When adjacent, they form a straight line |
Corresponding Angles | Angles that are in the same position when two parallel lines are crossed by a transversal. They are congruent (equal in measure). |
Alternate Interior Angles | Angles inside the parallel lines on opposite sides of the transversal. They are congruent (equal in measure). |
Alternate Exterior Angles | Angles outside the parallel lines on opposite sides of the transversal. They are congruent (equal in measure). |
