Digital Footprint All the information online about a person posted either by that person or by others. This information cannot be taken aback as once it’s on the internet, it stays on the internet.
Cookies Piece of data from a website that is stored within a web browser that the website can retrieve at a later time. When you revisit the website, the computer sends the same cookies back to the browser.
GeoLocation The process or technique of identifying the geographical location of a person or device by means of digital information processed via the internet.
MetaData A set of data that describes and gives information about other data. The table row and column headers in a spreadsheet are examples of metadata as they offer context to the data.
Data Information that has been translated into a form that is efficient for movement or processing. It tends to be stored within the computer and used by the computer.
Spreadsheet A computer program that can capture, display and manipulate data arranged in rows and columns.
Browser History Web browsing history refers to the list of web pages a user has visited, as well as associated data such as page title and the time of visit.
Digital Literacy Skills you need to live, learn, and work in a society where communication and access to information is constantly increasing and evolving through the needs of technology.
Blog Frequently updated web page used for personal commentary or business content.
Dossier A collection of documents about a particular person, event, or subject.
Derogatory Expressing a critical or disrespectful demeanor.
Social Networking Websites and apps that allow users and organizations to connect, communicate, share information with one another as well as develop relationships between each other.
Viral Quickly and widely spread / popularized through the means of social media and other online platforms.
Privacy Settings Privacy settings are controls available on many websites and apps to restrict those who can access your profile and what information viewers within the website can see.
