The Kingdom of Aksum

What helped Aksum become an international trading power? Access to sea trade on the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean.
When did the Kingdom of Aksum reach it height? Between AD 325 and 360.
Where was Aksum located? It was located South of Kush on a rugged plateau on the Red Sea.
When did Christianity begin in Judea? It began in about AD 30.
Who were the Aksumite Gods? The Gods include Astar, Mahrem, Beher, and Medr.
What type of items did Aksumite Merchants trade? Aksumite merchants traded necessities such as salt and luxuries such as rhinoceros horns, tortoise shells, ivory, emeralds, and gold.
What did Aksumite Merchants receive in return? They chose from items such as cloth, glass, olive oil, wine, brass, iron, and copper.
When was the first mention of Aksum? It was written around AD 100.
Where was Aksum's Chief Seaport? It was located in Adulis.
Why did Aksum's ruler move their capital over the mountains? To escape the advancing wave of Islam
What happened after 710, when they destroyed Adulis? It cut Aksum off from the major ports along both the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, as a result the kingdom declined as an international trading power.
