Fiction words

fantasy Made up fiction that could not happen in real life
realistic Made up fiction that could happen in real life
message What the author wants to teach you
theme The BIG idea or lesson
character The people or animals that move the plot.
climax The most exciting part of the story.
conflict The problem of the story.
setting The time and place of a story.
falling action The problem is getting fixed. Events leading to solution.
plot A series of events in a story.
relationship The connection between people or ideas.
resolution The end of the story that reveals the solution to the problem (conflict).
rising action The part of a story that builds interest and suspense.
conversation Communication between 2 or more people
events What happens in a story.
narrator Someone who tells the story.
selection A passage selected from a longer text.
first person point-of-view The story is told by one character, speaking about himself/herself.
third person point-of-view The story is told by someone outside the story (narrator).
