Tabriz Capital of Persia/ Shah Abbas was forced to surrender it to the Ottomans.
British East Indian Company allowed Britain access to Indian trade routes
Iran The modern country descended from the Persian Empire
Safavid Dynasty A Persian Dynasty which restored the Persian Empire
Shah Title for the king of Persia and other surrounding areas
Sunni Islam The largest branch of Islam
Twelver Shia Islam official religion of Safavid Persia
