What is the level of organization in order? | Atoms->molecules->cell->tissue->organ->organ system->organism |
Homeostasis | Levels of organization provide this stable environment |
Receptor | Senses a stimulus (ex. senses the temp) |
Control center | Receives information from receptor (hypothalamus is CC of body) |
Effector | Responds to control centers response |
Negative feedback | Stimulus causes receptor to send information to CC producing a response that eliminates the original stimulus. (Ex. When you are running, your temp increases, and the sweat glands activating, lowering the temp back down) |
Positive feedback | Stimulus causes receptor to send information to CC producing a response that enhances the original stimulus. (Ex. blood clotting; when more chemicals are produced, more clotting happens to cover injury) |

What is the pericardial cavity lined by? | Pericardium |
What is the abdominal cavity lined by? | Peritoneum |
What is the pelvic cavity lined by? | Peritoneum |
What is the difference between visceral and parietal? | Visceral- The part of the cavity that touches the organ directly. Parietal- The part of the cavity that does not touch the organ directly. |
