This is a review over chapters 1-7 in the Physical Science 6th edition textbook.

Law of Cause and Effect | Every effect has a specific, identifiable cause, and for every cause, there is a definite and predicted effect. |
Worldview | Our view of the world on the basis of assumptions we have about the world |
Secular science | Science that assumes there is no God, and we were the product of evolution |
Religious Worldview | People who view the world through the lense of the teaching of a particular teacher or text |
Christian Mandate | God's commandment to humans about exercising wise and good dominion over His creation for the glory of God and the benefits of the other humans |
Ethics | A system of moral values of a theory of proper conduct |
Model | A workable explanation or description of a phenomenon |
Theory | A model that explains a related set of phenomena |
law | a model, often expressed as a mathematical equation that describes a phenomena under certain conditions |
Workability | A fact or situation that is observed to exist or happen, especially one whose cause or explanation is in question. |
scientific inquiry | an ongoing, orderly, cyclical approach used to investigate the world. |
observation | the central activity in science (first step in the scientific inquiry) |
posing questions | A fundamental skill for scientists that gives them their purpose for doing science (second step in scientific inquiry) |
research | Done when faced with a new question that a scientist needs to determine what others already know until they have enough information to focus on their investigation on aspects of the issue that are not well understood (third step in scientific inquiry) |
hypothesis | an initial, testable explanation of a phenomenon that stimulates and guides the scientific investigation. (Fourth step in scientific inquiry) |
investigation | Where a scientist designs an experiment to address the hypothesis that they formed on the basis of their questions. (fourth step in scientific inquiry) |
Analysis | sixth step in scientific inquiry that involves graphing, reasoning, and using mathematics |
conclusion | the 7th step in the scientific inquiry that connects all the previous activities. |
Communication | the final step in scientific inquiry; peer review where models are strengthened, modified, or even distorted. |
Measurments | quantitative; based on numbers or quantities |
SI | the international system of units |
Accuracy | Compares a measurement to the accepted or expected value of a measurement. |
precision | the degree of exactness of the measurements |
bias | preference based on what others believe to be true |
