Clipper Ships A sailing vessel designed for speed, a priority which takes precedence over cargo carrying capacity, or building or operating costs.
Opening the door to Japan The main reason that the U.S. opened the doors to Japan was so American vessels could begin to trade with the mysterious island kingdom.
