The mole

TermDefinition
Avogadro's number The number of particle in a mole has been experimentally determined in a number of ways.
molar mass An alternative definition of mole is the amount of a substance that contains Avogadro's number of particles.
Mole The mole is the SI unit for amount of substance.
molecule A molecule is a neutral group of atoms that are held together by covalent bonds.
Scientific notation Numbers are written in form M x 10, where the factor M is a number greater than or equal to 1 but less than 10, and n is a whole number
fomula unit Is the simplest collection of atoms from which an ionic compound's formula can be written
molecular mass The oil deposit in the ground and detecting dioxins in our food supply are commonly performed today.
atomic mass The atomic mass is a relative measure
molecular formula This formulas gives the types and numbers of atoms in a compounds.
density Is the ratio of mass to volume, or mass divided by volume
Formula Mass Any molecule, formula unit, or iron is the sun of the average atomic masses of all atoms represented in its formula.
Percent composition The percentage by mass of each elements in a compound is know as the percentage composition
Empirical formula Consist of the symbols for the elements combined in a compound, with subscripts showing the smallest for the elements mole ratio of the different atoms in the compound,
