Newton's Laws Unit T
Question | Answer |
---|---|
Mass | - the amount of matter in an object. |
Velocity | -the speed and direction of an object. |
Force | -a push or a pull on an object. |
Acceleration | -change in VELOCITY: start, stop, speed up, slow down, change direction. |
Inertia | -the resistance of an object to change its motion, based on the objects MASS. |
Newton's 1 st Law | -an object at rest will stay at rest and an object in motion will stay in motion unless an unbalanced force happens. |
Newton's 2nd Law | -F=MA, the relationship between force, mass, and acceleration. It needs more force to move a bigger mass. |
Newton's 3rd Law | Equal but opposite reaction. The amount of force on the objects will be the same but applied in the opposite direction. |
Forces are always in pairs. | 3rd Law |
When you are in a car, your body continues to go forward when the car stops. | 1st Law |
A rocket pushes on the air and the air pushes on the rocket. | 3rd Law |
You are pushed back into your seat as a car suddenly accelerates. | 1st Law |
It take more force to move a bolder than a tennis ball. | 2nd Law |
F=MA | 2nd Law |
