HS Rehabilitation

rehabilitation the process of helping a person with a disability to return to his or her highest level of physical, emotional, or economic function

supportive devices devices that help to stabilize a weak joint or limb; used in physical therapy to help a person with a disability regain function
assistive devices Devices that make certain tasks (such as walking, eating, or dressing) easier for a person with a disability
prosthetic devices artificial replacements for legs, feet, arms, or other body parts
frail physically weak and fragile
physical therapy treatment to prevent disability or to restore functioning through the use of exercise
occupational therapy Therapy based on engagement in meaningful activities of daily life (as self-care skills - like dressing, bathing) especially to enable or encourage participation in such activities despite impairments or limitations in physical or mental functioning
chronic continuing for a long time
acute New, usually of rapid onset and of concern, opposite of chronic
orthotic device A device that helps support and align a limb and improve its functioning and helps prevent or correct deformities.
speech-language pathologist assesses and treats persons with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
