Dorsal cavity contains the brain and the spinal canal
Ventral cavity two main regions; much larger than the dorsal cavity; two main regions are separated by the diaphragm
Thoracic cavity chest; above the diaphragm; contains the heart, lungs, and large blood vessels that join the heart
Abdominal cavity below the diaphragm; contains the stomach, most of the intestines, two kidneys, the liver, gall bladder, pancreas, and spleen; divides further into the pelvic cavity
Pelvic cavity contains the urinary bladder, the rectum, and the reproductive organs; located right below the abdominal cavity
