atomic mass | the weighted average of the atomic masses of the naturally occurring isotopes of an element |
molecular formula | a chemical formula that shows the number and kinds of atoms in a molecule but not the arrangement of the atoms |
density | the ratio of the mass of a substance to the volume of the substance often expressed as grams per cubic centimeter for solids and liquids and as grams per liter for gases |
formula mass | the sum of the average atomic masses of all the atoms represented in the formula of any molecule, formula unit or ion |
percent composition | the percentage by mass of each element in a compound |
empirical formula | a chemical formula that shows the compound the composition of a compound in terms of the relative numbers and kind of atoms in the simplest ratio |
molecular formula | the sum of the average atomic masses of a compoundĀ“s element |
