Antiepileptic drugs/ anticonvulsant drugs

Dilantin, Phenytoin Class: Anticonvulsant Indication: Antiepileptic drug, works by slowing down the impulses in the brain caused by seizures. Does not treat all seizure types.
Tegretol, Carbamazepine Class: Anticonvulsant Indication: Works by decreasing nerve impulses that cause seizure, and pain. Treats partial, tonic-clonic, and mixed seizures. Also treat nerve pain, such as trigeminal neuralgia and glossopharyngeal neuralgia.
Imitrex, Sumatriptan Class: Antimigraine agent Indication: Narrows blood vessels around the brain, reduces substances in the body that can trigger headache, pain , nausea, light sensitivity, and sound.
Plaquenil, Hydroxychloroquine Class: Antimalarial Indication: Treats or prevents malaria. Also treats symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and discoid, or systemic lupus erythematosus. Can cause dangerous effects on the heart, especially if taken with Z-pak.
Lyrica, Pregabalin Approved as an anticonvulsant, slows down impulses in the brain that cause seizure, also effect chemicals in the brain that send pain signals across the nervous system. Treats pain caused by fibromyalgia, diabetic neuropathy, herpes zoster, or spinal cor
