metamorphic rock any rock that has been changed by intense heat and pressure
outer core the layer of Earth that lies between the mantle and inner core
sediment small rock fragments
sedimentary rock any rock formed when sediment is compacted or cemented
cementation gluing together of sediments
compaction the squeezing together of sediments from the overhead layers
melting solid to liquid
pressure force applied over a certain area
the rock cycle changes that turn one rock type into another
weathering the breakdown of rocks into small grains
cooling liquid to solid
the deeper you go into earth... the more heat and pressure there is
