pronoun a word that replaces a noun
antecedent the noun which a pronoun refers to
personal pronouns refers to the (1) person speaking or writing, (2) the person listening or reading, (3) the topic being discussed or written about
reflexive pronouns directs the action of the verb toward its subject. (points back to a noun or pronoun in the sentence)
intensive pronouns a noun that adds emphasis to a noun or pronoun in the same sentence
demonstrative pronouns a noun that points to a specific person, place, thing, or idea
relative pronouns begins a subordinating clause and connects it to another idea in the same sentence
