What kind of a character did Joseph have? Forgiving- Genesis 45:8- his brother’s did not even ask for forgiveness for their extensive sin; yet Joseph pardoned and said they did not send him to Egypt, but God did, and as a result of that he is now one of the most powerful men in all of Egypt faithful- Genesis 39:20-23 While in prison, Joseph remained faithful to God, and was made in charge over the other prisoners. God continued to give Joseph success in whatever he did as a result of him remaining faithful to God, even through hard times. Write about a theme you see throughout the book of Genesis. (Remember, a theme is something you can learn; a lesson that’s being taught.) Explain why this is important and what it teaches us about God. Throughout the book of Genesis, men continue to sin and also continue to face hard times, but God continues to use them in miraculous ways to achieve his plans. The hard times these people face both test them of their faith, as well as build them as people to achieve what great things God wants them to achieve. This teaches us that God is omnipotent and forever remains in the presents of people’s lives, guiding them through the hard times, and allowing them to understand the purpose of those hard times, as well as the purpose of their life.
Know and reflect on at least 2 scriptural references of Jesus or messianic prophecy in Genesis -Genesis 3:15 The reference to the savior that will crush the head of the serpent is referring to Jesus when he dies on the cross, he will then crush the head of the serpent, or the devil. -Genesis 22:9-14 Abraham was told to sacrifice his only son but then an angel stopped him and said to kill a lamb instead. The lamb represents Jesus and the fact that Abraham was going to sacrifice his only son foreshadows the coming of Jesus;

Cain Man who kills his brother Abel
