TermDefinition
Line A group of lines in a poem creates a stanza
Stanza a group of related lines in a poem that make up one section within the poem. 'Poetry's little paragraphs'
Poem a piece of writing, often with words that rhyme and have a particular rhythm.
Multiselect A question where there are multiple (usually two) correct answers to choose
Multipart A question that has a Part A and Part B
Constructed Response A question that you answer in complete sentences using the R.A.C.E strategy
Emphasize to give particular attention to
Conclude to bring to an end; finish or complete.
Synonym A word that has the same, or similar, meaning as another. Example: timid and shy
Paragraph A section, or part, of a story. These are numbered throughout the story.
Figurative Language A word or phrase that does not have its normal everyday, literal meaning. Examples of figurative language: Simile, Metaphor, Idiom
Simile A comparison of two things USING the words 'like' or 'as' Example: My pillow is as soft as a cloud.
Imagine Form a mental picture
Selection Whole passage/story
Subheading the heading or title of a SECTION of a printed text.
Differ Different
Combine To put together
Error A mistake
Effective able to make happen or change something.
