What is the Motherboard? The main circuit board to which all of the internal components connect
What are found on the Motherboard? CPU, Memory, Sound Cards, Graphic Cards, Expansion Slots
What does electricity get changed into? Converts AC-(Alternating Currents) to DC (Direct Currents)
What is a Hard Disk? A large capacity storage used to hold information such as programs and documents
What are two puposes of the operating system? Manage the hardware and software resources, and provides stable consistent applications for hardware without having to know all the hardware details
What does IDE stand for? Integratd Drive Electronic conroller
What is AGP? Accelerated Graphic Port
What does the Graphic Card do? Translates image data from the comouter into a format that can be displayed by the monitor
What is the GPU? Graphics Processing Unit, handles the operation that normally would require the CPU
What does the Real-Time clock contain? A vibarating crystal
What do the fans, heat sinks and cooling systems do? Keeps the computer from overheating
What is the sound card? Record, and play audio
What does the system unit contain? All the computers components for storing data
What all does the computer do? Accept data, Process data according to instructions, Provides data results, Stores data
The power supply is what to the computer? Vital for computer operation
Computers have millions of what? Transistors
0's and 1's represent what? On and off
What is bigger a bit or a byte? A byte
ASCII stands for what? American Standard Code of Information Interchange
