Coronal plane Divided the body into anterior and posterior parts
Transverse or horizontal plane Divides the body into superior and inferior portions
Prone Lying face down
Recumbent Lying down
Supine Lying on the back
Trendelenburg Body tilted, head lower than feet
Fowlers Head higher than feet
Sims Lying left anterior side, right knee and thigh flexed and left arm extended down behind back
Oblique position An angled position
Right and Left Posterior Oblique Positions LPO RPO Specific oblique positions in which the left or right posterior aspect of the body is closest to IR (AP Oblique PROJECTION)
Right and Left Anterior Oblique Position RAO LAO Right and left anterior aspect of the body is closest to IR (PA oblique PROJECTION)
