Who were the first "Americans"? (13/4) The first "Americans" were hunter-gatherers who moved from Asia to North America nearly 30,000-12,000 years ago.
Where were the Native Americans located? (13/4) The Native Americans lived in an area that stretched from modern Oregon to Alaska.
What type of resources did the Native Americans use? (13/4) The Native Americans used the rich resources of the region.The sea was the most important of the resources.(the hunting of whales) They also gathered food from the forests on the coast.
Who were the Anasazi? (13/4) Another group of Native Americans called the Anasazi lived where the present-day states of Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico meet.The Anasazi built groups of houses in the shallow caves that broke up the rocky walls of deep canyons in the region.
What were some culture connections between the tribes? (13/4) Religious ideas were similar.They all thought the world was full of spirits and that people had to follow certain rituals and customs to live in peace. (polytheistic)In some tribes, families were linked together with others who shared a common ancestor.
Who were the Mayans? (13/5) The Mayan people were located where modern day southern Mexico and northern Central America is. The Maya civilization existed between 250 and 950 A.D. The Mayans were the first well developed society in North America.
What were some Important Mayan Achievements?(13/5) The Mayan calendar and astronomy, Mayan writing (Glyphs), Mayan Math, and Architecture- Pyramids and temples.
How did the Mayan civilization decline? (13/5) Historians aren't sure, there are many possible reasons on why the Mayan civilization declined. Mysteriously, in the late 800's A.D. Randomly everybody who lived in the cities left, All the houses supplies, everything stayed, except the people.
What were the Mayans Social Class? (13/5) The top of the social class structure was made up of the best warriors and priests, the middle class was made up of merchants and craft workers, and the bottom class were peasant farmers.
What were the Mayans religion? (13/5) Believed in many gods(polytheism), including one god for each day. The Maya sometimes cut themselves to offer their blood to the gods. And the Maya religion led to the development of mathematics, calendars, and astronomy.
