John M. Parker the governor who had the nickname "Gravel Roads Governor" because he improved the transportation system in our state
James Houston David the Louisiana governor who wrote "You are my Sunshine"
delesseps S. "Chep " Morrison he was a very popular mayor of New Orleans who greatly improved the city's port and transportation system
Carl Austin Weiss the man who was charged with the fatal shooting of Huey P. Long
Andrew Jackson Higgins a boat designer that helped win WWII. The design was used by 92% of all U.S. Navy vessels
"Uncle Earl" Kemp Long Huey's brother who was also from Winnfield and spent time traveling as a salesman. He became a lawyer without graduating from law school
Leander Perez a successful governor in Louisiana. He provided free supplies to school kids, stated the tenure and retirement system of teachers but resigned suddenly and was indicted for corruption
