After Crosstown expressway proposal, who came and lived on South Street beginning in the mid 1960's. Artists, counterculture, and hippie revolution. South St. developed an avant garde reputation.

South Street in the 1980's to today. Became a major tourist attraction. Moving into the 90's and beyond galleries and clubs have been replaced with chain stores and shops that cater to tourists. pandemic caused many stores to close. Hopefully beginning to come back.
