Digital Footprint | data that is left behind when users have been online. |
Cookies | a piece of data from a website that is stored within a web browser that the website can retrieve at a later time |
MetaData | the data providing information about one or more aspects of the data |
Data | information that has been translated into a form that is efficient for movement or processing. |
Spreadsheet | computer program that represents information in a two-dimensional grid of data, along with formulas that relate the data. |
Browser History | the list of web pages a user has visited, as well as associated metadata such as page title and time of visit. |
Digital Literacy | having the skills you need to live, learn, and work in a society where communication and access to information is increasingly through digital technologies like internet platforms, social media, and mobile devices |
Blog | a website that contains online personal reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks, videos, and photographs provided by the writer |
Dossier | a file containing detailed records on a particular person or subject. |
Derogatory | expressive of a low opinion |
Social Networking | an online community of individuals who exchange messages, share information, and, in some cases, cooperate on joint activities. |
Viral | a type of malicious code or program written to alter the way a computer operates and is designed to spread from one computer to another |
Profile | the computer representation of a user model. |
Privacy Settings | controls available on many websites and apps to limit who can access your profile and what information visitors can see. |
GeoLocation | the process of finding, determining and providing the exact location of a computer, networking device or equipment. |
